A bomb explosion has injured a young girl. The blast, which authorities suspect was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), took place around 12:30 pm on Friday. The explosion has created significant concern and fear among the local residents and traders.
According to local sources, including Ali Hassan, a resident of Buni, the girl who was injured is still unidentified, and her current condition remains unknown. Captain Muhammad Shehu, spokesman for Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the incident. He also reported that a second IED was found and safely defused by the Army, preventing further harm.
This explosion adds to a series of recent attacks involving IEDs. Just a day before, seven Nigerian soldiers were killed when their vehicle struck a similar device in Maiduguri, Borno State. This incident occurred along the Gamboru Ngala-Maiduguri Road and is suspected to be the work of Boko Haram militants.
