The EndBadGovernance protesters have kicked off a one-million-man march in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The march, which began on August 1, has drawn participants from across the country and is set to conclude today, August 10.
Organizers of the protest claim that up to one million people have joined the movement, aiming to spotlight the rising cost of living that has been impacting many Nigerians.
The protestors, who gathered in various parts of the city early this Saturday, carried a range of placards and banners with messages like “we are hungry,” clearly voicing their dissatisfaction with the current economic conditions.
The demonstration is part of a larger campaign by the EndBadGovernance group, which has pledged to organize similar large-scale protests in all 36 states of Nigeria and the capital. This series of protests is intended to put pressure on the government to address economic issues and improve living conditions.
The high turnout reflects widespread public frustration and a growing demand for significant changes in economic policies.
