Just In: Tinubu Arrives in Equatorial Guinea for Three-Day Diplomatic Visit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit. This visit comes at the invitation of Equatorial Guinea’s President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, marking an important diplomatic engagement between the two African nations.

President Tinubu landed at the Saint Isabel Airport in Malabo at approximately 2:07 pm local time, arriving aboard a Gulfstream aircraft. He was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Mrs. Manuela Roka Botey, along with other officials.

The main agenda of President Tinubu’s visit includes a crucial meeting with President Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa. The two leaders are expected to discuss and finalize several bilateral agreements, focusing particularly on the areas of oil, gas, and security.

These discussions are anticipated to strengthen the ties between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, promoting cooperation and mutual benefit in these key sectors.

This visit marks President Tinubu’s first official trip to Equatorial Guinea and his seventh visit to an African country since taking office about 15 months ago. Overall, it is his 22nd international trip, highlighting his active role in global and regional diplomacy.

Joining President Tinubu on this visit are key members of his cabinet, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar. The delegation is expected to engage in the signing of agreements and explore new opportunities to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
