President Tinubu Mourns Sokoto Monarch, Vows to End Terrorism

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Isa Bawa, the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State’s Sabon Birni Local Government Area.

The traditional ruler was abducted several weeks ago while traveling along the Sokoto – Sabon Birni Road, and a video surfaced online showing him tied up, pleading for help from the state government and well-wishers.

In a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tinubu condemned the killing, calling it a “savage attack” and a “heinous act” that would not be ignored.

He assured the public that the government is committed to responding decisively to such acts of terror. “These desperate acts of terror will be effectively countered,” the President emphasized.

In addition to his strong condemnation of the incident, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the late monarch’s family, the Gobir Emirate, and the Sokoto State government. He also prayed for the repose of the monarch’s soul and offered comfort to his grieving family during this difficult time.
