VIDEO: Osinbajo in Katsina, Condoles with Yar’Adua Family Over Hajiya Dada’s Passing

Immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN was in Katsina Thursday morning to pay a condolence visit to the Yar’Adua family following the passing of Hajiya Dada, the mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Hajiya Dada passed away earlier this week, having lived an impactful life, leaving a legacy of quiet strength.

Laolu Akande, the former Vice President’s spokesperson, shared updates about the visit on social media.

Osinbajo’s trip is seen as a testament to his longstanding relationship with the Yar’Adua family.

In a tweet on his X account, Akande stated, “Immediate Past VP, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has arrived in Katsina this morning on a condolence visit to the Yaradua family on the death of Hajiya Dada. He was received by the Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda and accompanied by Senator Kabiru Gaya, among others.”

Osinbajo, who has long been known for his humility and empathy, was welcomed at the airport by the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda.

The former Vice President was also accompanied by a notable delegation, including Senator Kabiru Gaya, and Mrs Maryam Uwais, former Presidential Adviser on Social Investment among other dignitaries.

In another tweet, Akande wrote “Prof. Osinbajo, SAN is seen here with members of the Yaradua family, as the former VP spends time at the family compound in Katsina to commiserate on the transition of a truly noble mother of -among others- the late former military VP Gen Shehu Musa Yaradua, late former President Umaru Yaradua & current Senator Yaradua, the retired military officer. May the memories of Hajiya Dada, 102, remain blessed & may her caring soul rest in peace. Osinbajo was accompanied to the compound by the Katsina State Gov. Radda. Senator Gaya led prayers during the visit.”

The visit underscores Osinbajo’s close ties to the Yar’Adua family and his deep respect for the legacy of the former president and General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.
