2027: APC Breaks Silence After Billboard Promoting Tinubu’s Re-election Surfaces in Abuja

APC Disclaims Responsibility for Tinubu 2027 Re-Election Billboard in Abuja

A billboard promoting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 has sparked a wave of discussions in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

The advertisement, prominently displayed in the Area One region, features the message “Grassroots support for Tinubu 2027, the 1019 initiative,” along with images of President Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.

The appearance of the billboard has led to speculation about the intentions behind the campaign, as President Tinubu is only in the second year of his first four-year term and has not yet declared any intention to run for re-election.

Reacting to the development, Bala Ibrahim, the National Publicity Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC), distanced the party from the billboard.

He clarified that the APC had no involvement in the campaign and suggested that the initiative might have been undertaken by independent groups or individuals who support President Tinubu.

“At the party and personal level, I am not aware. If you have seen it, you may wish to check. It could have been done by a group or individuals,” Ibrahim told Punch.

He further noted that billboards typically display the details of their sponsors, and if there is no indication of APC’s involvement, the party is not officially connected to it.
