A tragic incident occurred during a church service in Lagos, where a 55-year-old woman named Ifeoma collapsed and died while sharing her testimony. The event took place at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area on Sunday, September 8, 2024, around 8:48 am.
According to reports, Ifeoma had gone to the front of the congregation to share her testimony, singing songs of gratitude when she suddenly slumped.
Efforts were made to save her as she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she was then referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where she was pronounced dead.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. He stated, “The Zonal accountant of the church in Ejigbo came to the station and reported that during testimony hour in the church, while the service was on, Ifeoma came out singing songs to give her testimony when she suddenly slumped.”
He further added, “Based on the report, detectives were detailed to visit the hospital with the complainant. On getting there, they were told that the husband and family of the deceased had taken the corpse to Anambra State, where she came from, for burial.”
