Governor Soludo Sacks Anambra Information Commissioner

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has dismissed his Commissioner for Information, Mr. Paul Nwosu, amid allegations of poor performance.

This action comes as the governor faces growing scrutiny over his administration’s communication and public relations, particularly with the governorship election scheduled for next year.

An inside source from the Anambra Government House told Vanguard that the governor had become increasingly frustrated with Nwosu’s handling of the state’s information management.

According to the source, the governor believed that Nwosu’s inefficiency was affecting his public image at a crucial time when effective communication is vital for the upcoming political season.

“As I speak, Mr. Paul Nwosu has packed his bag from the Ministry, and we are just waiting for the sack to be officially announced,” the source told Vanguard.

The news of Nwosu’s removal did not come as a shock to many in the state. Several government officials and political observers pointed out that Nwosu’s sacking was long overdue, claiming that he had not effectively carried out his duties as the state’s spokesperson.

Some journalists in Anambra noted that throughout Nwosu’s nearly three-year tenure, he rarely engaged with the press or provided briefings on government activities.

This lack of communication left the media in the dark about the administration’s policies and decisions. Some even went as far as to say that Nwosu was the least effective Commissioner for Information in Anambra’s history since its creation.

It has also been revealed that Governor Soludo has already selected a candidate to replace Nwosu. The new nominee is expected to be screened by the Anambra State House of Assembly in the coming days.
