Flooding: Seyi Tinubu Donates N500m To Victims, Provides Essential Relief Supplies

Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, has made a significant contribution to the victims of the recent flood that devastated Maiduguri, Borno State. On Friday, Seyi donated N500 million to assist those affected by the disaster, which has displaced millions and left 70% of the city submerged in water.

Accompanied by his brother, friends, and associates, Seyi visited Maiduguri to personally express sympathy and support for the flood victims. While presenting the donation on their behalf, Seyi explained that the visit marked the beginning of their efforts to help alleviate the hardship faced by the residents, especially the youth, who have been severely impacted by the flood.

He assured that this relief effort would not be a one-time intervention, pledging ongoing support until the state, and Maiduguri in particular, fully recovers from the crisis. During the visit, he met with Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and other key officials at the state government house.

Seyi praised the people of Borno for their resilience, recalling their strength in overcoming years of insecurity and expressing optimism that they would also recover from this latest challenge. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and quick action in the face of such disasters, adding, “We are here today, not just as representatives of our family but as members of a collective effort of young Nigerians to bring hope and relief to those who need it most.”

In addition to the financial donation, Seyi’s team also brought vital supplies to aid the displaced families. These included 10,000 mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, kettles, wrappers, buckets, mats, sanitary pads, and wash kits. To address the health needs of the affected population, they also provided medical supplies that could serve nearly 50,000 children and adults. These medicines included antimalarials, anti-hypertensives, antiparasitics, anti-diabetics, analgesics, and antibiotics.

Seyi also took the opportunity to thank Governor Zulum for his leadership during this difficult time and commended everyone working to ensure that relief supplies reach the affected families. He expressed his commitment to supporting Borno’s recovery, echoing the words of his father, President Tinubu, who recently called for private sector involvement in aiding the flood-hit communities.
