BREAKING: APC’s Okpebholo Wins Edo Governorship Election

Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Edo State governorship election, defeating his major opponents, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).

The announcement was made on Sunday at the collation center in Benin City, Edo’s state capital, by the Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Kuta.

According to the final results, Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes, outpacing his closest challenger, Ighodalo, who garnered 247,274 votes. Akpata, representing the Labour Party, finished in third place with 22,763 votes.

In his official statement, Prof. Faruk Kuta, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, declared, “That Okpebholo, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.” This announcement officially confirmed Okpebholo as the next governor of Edo State.
