Popular TikToker Salo Shot and Robbed in Lagos

On Thursday, Ojesanmi Afeez, widely known as Salo on TikTok, was brutally attacked in the Lekki area of Lagos State. Salo, a popular content creator on the social media platform, was robbed and shot by unknown assailants. The attackers reportedly stole his gold chain before fleeing the scene.

The incident was first shared by Tunde Perry, another TikToker who often collaborates with Salo in live streams. In an emotional statement, Perry revealed that Salo had been rushed to Perez Medcare Hospital in Lekki Phase 2, where he is currently receiving treatment. He added, “They have shot Salo in the leg. They have also stolen his gold chain at one filling station in Lekki. Some boys just rushed him to the hospital and I have gone there now.”

A video that has since gone viral shows Salo’s white Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 43 covered in blood. The footage also reveals a bullet casing left on the driver’s seat of the vehicle, a chilling reminder of the violent nature of the attack.

An eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared details of Salo’s condition at the hospital. “When I got to the hospital, I was not allowed to enter,” the eyewitness said. “The nurse just said we should keep praying for him because his condition is critical.”

Prior to the incident, Salo had expressed concerns about his safety. In a video recorded before the attack, Salo was seen pleading with his manager, Sula, to arrange for security. “Sula, please provide me with security. I ought to have had. Help me with one mopol, Sula, my daddy,” Salo was heard saying, seemingly worried about the growing risks he was facing.

In addition to this attack, Salo was recently involved in an altercation with fellow TikToker, Tobi Nation. The two had a disagreement over a property transaction in Lekki, which escalated publicly. Despite their differences, Tobi Nation expressed his shock and sadness upon hearing the news of the attack. He attempted to visit Salo at the hospital but was unable to see him due to strict security measures.

The Lagos State Police have confirmed the attack, with spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stating that the shooting occurred on Admiralty Way in Lekki. “Salo was truly shot yesterday at Admiralty Way, Lekki. We have begun investigation into the incident, and I will give you further updates,” Hundeyin said.
