JUST IN: Three-Storey Building Collapses in Lagos

In the early hours of Monday, a three-storey building collapsed in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State, Nigeria, causing widespread panic among residents.

The incident occurred on Amusu Street, close to Baale Bus Stop, at around 8 a.m. Fortunately, no lives were lost, as all the occupants of the building had evacuated prior to the collapse.

An eyewitness present at the scene reported that the building came down suddenly, sending residents of the area into a state of confusion.

Many people ran in different directions, fearing for their safety, while others gathered at a safe distance to watch the aftermath.

The scene was chaotic as emergency responders quickly arrived to assess the situation and begin clearing the debris.

According to the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, who confirmed the incident, there were no casualties recorded. He stated, “Evacuation of the debris is ongoing without any casualty recorded.”
