The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully transported relief materials donated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu. The aid was delivered as part of her initiative under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at supporting people impacted by the devastating floods that hit the region on September 10.
The relief mission was carried out using the NAF’s C-130 aircraft, which airlifted the supplies from Abuja to Maiduguri on Wednesday. This effort aligns with the NAF’s ongoing commitment to assisting civilian authorities in times of crisis, ensuring timely support reaches affected populations.
In an official statement issued in Abuja, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, highlighted the importance of this operation.
According to Akinboyewa, the items airlifted included essential food supplies, clothing, sanitary products, and toys for children, which were all aimed at providing much-needed comfort and relief to the affected communities.
Once the materials arrived in Maiduguri, they were received by NAF officers led by the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI. These officers then handed over the supplies to the Borno State government, which will manage their distribution to those in need.
”This mission highlights the NAF’s dedication to providing timely humanitarian assistance, particularly in regions severely impacted by natural disasters.
”The collaboration between the First Lady’s office and the NAF demonstrates the significance of collective effort to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the flood in Borno State,” he said.
