Bayer Leverkusen Provide Update on Victor Boniface’s Condition After Car Accident

Bayer Leverkusen, reigning Bundesliga champions, have released details about the health status of their Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, following a car accident in Germany. The incident occurred on Sunday, just hours after Boniface helped his team secure a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in a Bundesliga clash.

The 23-year-old Super Eagles striker initially posted videos and photos of the accident on his social media accounts, but the posts have since been deleted.

His car was severely damaged in the crash, and the images revealed the extent of the wreckage. Boniface shared his gratitude, writing, “God is the greatest” and “God says my time hasn’t come,” reflecting his relief at surviving the incident.

According to Bild, a well-known German tabloid, Boniface was not driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. He was a passenger in a Mercedes that collided with a truck while on the A3 motorway.

The accident occurred between the towns of Bad Camberg and Idstein, as Boniface was on his way to Frankfurt Airport. He was traveling on a training-free Sunday to pick up friends when the accident took place.

The report explained, “Boniface was on the A3 between Bad Camberg and Idstein on his way to Frankfurt Airport shortly after seven on a training-free Sunday, where he wanted to pick up friends, when the Mercedes collided with a truck.”

The driver, reportedly fatigued, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve from the middle lane and crash into the truck. The force of the collision was so severe that the Mercedes flipped over, according to the police.

Despite the alarming nature of the crash, Bayer Leverkusen was quick to reassure fans about Boniface’s condition. In response to an inquiry from Bild, a club spokesperson stated, “He is fine.”

The club confirmed that Boniface sustained only minor injuries, specifically two small cuts on his hand. Both he and the driver were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and observation. Fortunately, they have since been discharged and have returned safely to Cologne.

In a photo shared before he deleted his post, Boniface appeared calm but was shown with blood dripping from his arm, indicating the minor injuries he had suffered.
