The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached a significant agreement with the Dangote Refinery for the direct supply of petroleum products. The announcement was made by IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, at a press briefing held in Abuja on Monday, following a National Working Committee meeting.
According to Garima, the deal is set to improve access to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) across Nigeria. He explained that the agreement would allow IPMAN to lift products directly from the Dangote Refinery, ensuring a consistent and affordable supply of fuel nationwide. This move aims to ease the distribution process, cutting down reliance on third-party suppliers and potentially reducing overall costs for consumers.
“After meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we are pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets,” Garima stated.
He further emphasized the importance of this partnership, urging IPMAN members to fully support Dangote Refinery. Garima pointed out that the refinery’s operations contribute to Nigeria’s goal of reducing fuel import dependency, which has been a longstanding burden on the country’s foreign exchange market.
