Lakurawa: “No One Dares Tinubu And Wins,” Says NSA Ribadu

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has issued a stern warning to a newly emerged terror group, the Lakurawa, following recent attacks in the northwest region of Nigeria.

Speaking at the Comptroller-General of Customs conference in Abuja, Ribadu declared that the government will respond forcefully to the group’s activities, which have destabilized parts of Kebbi State.

Representing President Bola Tinubu at the event, Ribadu emphasized that those who challenge the current administration will face severe consequences, saying, “No one dares Tinubu and wins.”

The comments followed an announcement from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, that a significant military deployment was underway in Kebbi.

The action aims to address rising violence after 17 residents were killed in Mera village, located in Augie Local Government Area, allegedly by Lakurawa members.

Soldiers equipped with armored vehicles and heavy weaponry have been sent to the affected area to restore security and protect local populations.

During his address, Ribadu highlighted what he called “Tinubu’s gains” in national security, noting improved stability in several regions previously troubled by insurgent activities. He pointed to reduced violence in areas once impacted by Boko Haram and bandit groups, adding, “Every day, people are surrendering,” in reference to bandits now seeking amnesty.

Ribadu also mentioned economic reforms that have helped curb corruption in the country, attributing these changes to President Tinubu’s leadership. He pointed to successes in the Niger Delta region, where crude oil production has reportedly increased due to improved security.

Additionally, Ribadu commended the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for exceeding its annual revenue target by collecting over N5 trillion in the first 11 months of the year, which he credited as a reflection of Tinubu’s policies.
