The Presidency, on Thursday, made a clear statement regarding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s recent criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Atiku, who was also the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, had advised President Tinubu to focus on immediate governance issues rather than speculating about political strategies for 2027.
Responding to these remarks, the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare, emphasized that the administration is committed to its reform agenda and has no intention of engaging in a prolonged back-and-forth with the opposition leader. Dare noted that President Tinubu’s government is fully focused on “delivering relief and implementing critical reforms to benefit the Nigerian people.”
In a direct statement, Dare conveyed, “We have a country to run, we are done with Atiku. Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected by Nigerians to run this country and that is the focus right now to bring succour to our people, to deliver on the reforms that are ongoing, that is what is important for now and that’s the focus.”
