Reports claiming the death of Otunba Michael Ishola Adenuga, founder and chairman of Globacom, have been dismissed by insiders from his various establishments. Adenuga, often referred to as Mike Adenuga, is alive and in good health, according to sources close to the billionaire businessman.
Speculations about his health surfaced after unverified posts circulated on social media, suggesting he had passed away. However, trusted sources have confirmed that these claims are false.
A senior management official from Globacom revealed, “No such thing happened. He is well.” This statement came after the insider and other colleagues reportedly had a recent conversation with Adenuga amid the swirling rumors.
Another employee of the telecom giant, who preferred anonymity, reiterated the same assurance, stating that the philanthropist and businessman is alive. Known for his extensive contributions to various industries, Adenuga continues to be regarded as a towering figure in Nigeria and beyond.
Adenuga is the chairman of the Mike Adenuga Group, a conglomerate with interests in telecommunications, oil and gas, banking, construction, and real estate.
In 2024, Forbes valued his wealth at $6.7 billion, making him the second-richest person in Africa. Adenuga celebrated his 71st birthday on April 29 this year, adding another milestone to a life marked by significant achievements.
