Amorim: Mason Mount Out Injured For Several Weeks

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is facing another lengthy absence due to injury, compounding what has been a challenging season for the England international.

Since joining United from Chelsea in July last year, Mount has struggled to make a consistent impact at Old Trafford. Persistent injuries and fluctuating form have kept him sidelined for much of the campaign.

So far, the 25-year-old has only managed 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring just one goal and starting only nine Premier League matches.

Mount’s latest setback occurred during last week’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the derby. United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that Mount will be unavailable for “several weeks,” though an exact timeline for his return remains uncertain.

“I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for a long time,” Amorim said. “That’s football, and we move forward.”

Despite the setback, Amorim expressed his support for Mount, praising the player’s recent improvement. “What I can do is help Mase by teaching him how to adapt to our game during his recovery. We’ll use this time for him to think about different aspects of the game,” he said.

Amorim also acknowledged the difficulties in reintegrating injured players due to the team’s demanding schedule, stating, “We’re always travelling, playing matches, and training is limited. It’s hard to recreate the game environment for players returning from injury.”

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is set to return for United’s upcoming match against Bournemouth after missing the derby and a recent League Cup defeat to Tottenham.

Amorim dismissed any disciplinary issues regarding Rashford and remains optimistic about the team’s progress, despite their current 13th position in the league.

“We are creating more threats, taking shots, and pressing better. The team is improving physically and tactically,” Amorim added.
