APC Governors Visit Buhari in Kaduna, Reaffirm Party Unity

Several Governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna. The visit, organized by the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), took place on Monday and was aimed at demonstrating the party’s unity and strength.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who serves as the chairman of the PGF, spoke to journalists following a private meeting with Buhari.

He noted that the timing of the visit was significant, coinciding with the end of Ramadan, Lent, and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. Uzodinma emphasized the importance of acknowledging the former president’s contributions to the APC, particularly given his two terms in office under the party’s banner.

Buhari was described as a key figure in Nigerian politics, with Governor Uzodinma referring to him as a father figure. He expressed his joy at finding the former president in good health and high spirits during their meeting.

The visit was also an opportunity for the governors to express their gratitude for Buhari’s leadership, which they believe has laid the groundwork for the APC to remain a dominant force in the country’s political sphere.

Governor Uzodinma also noted the importance of maintaining internal unity within the APC. He further added that strong leadership is crucial for the party to continue achieving electoral success in the future.

The APC, according to Uzodinma, remains the largest and most influential political party in Nigeria, positioning itself well for the upcoming 2027 elections.

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who hosted the visit, also praised Buhari as an enduring leader whose influence continues to guide the party. Sani referred to Buhari as a father, leader, and statesman whose wisdom continues to shape the direction of the APC.
