Asake confirmed his exit by releasing his latest single, Why Love, under his newly established label, Giran Republic. This move signals a new phase in his career, as he steps out independently after gaining massive success under YBNL.
Despite his departure, Asake previously paid tribute to Olamide in his first song of the year, Military. This gesture appears to put to rest any speculation of a fallout between the two artists.
Asake joined YBNL Nation in February 2022, a move that significantly boosted his career. That same year, he signed a distribution deal with Empire, an international record label known for working with top African artists.
