Barcelona and Inter Milan played out an exhilarating 3-3 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Inter Milan took an early 2-0 lead thanks to Marcus Thuram’s record-breaking 30-second opener and Denzel Dumfries’ stunning acrobatic goal. Barcelona, however, responded with Lamine Yamal’s remarkable solo effort to pull one back. Ferran Torres then leveled the score, only for Dumfries to strike again for Inter, making it 3-2.
The drama didn’t stop there. An own goal from Yann Sommer allowed Barcelona to equalize once more before the break, leaving the tie finely balanced heading into the second half.
Despite the challenges, Barcelona’s youthful side, led by Yamal, pressed forward. The Spanish prodigy’s mesmerizing performance continued as he set up chances and scored his own incredible goal, making history as the youngest player ever to score in a Champions League semi-final.
