Barcelona’s Koundé to Miss Champions League Second Leg Against Inter Milan Due to Injury

Barcelona defender Jules Koundé will miss the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan after suffering a hamstring injury, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The French right-back sustained the injury during the thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.

In a statement, Barcelona explained that medical tests revealed a hamstring issue in Koundé’s left thigh.

While the club did not specify the exact duration of his recovery, Koundé is expected to be sidelined for several matches. He will not feature in Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Valladolid and is also doubtful for the upcoming Clasico against Real Madrid on May 11.

Koundé’s absence comes as Barcelona continues its pursuit of a potential quadruple this season. In his place, Eric Garcia stepped in at right-back during the second half against Inter Milan.

The 26-year-old Koundé has been a key player for Barcelona, making 53 appearances across all competitions this season. His injury is a significant blow as the club looks to secure a spot in the Champions League final.
