Air Peace has experienced significant disruptions in its flight operations due to three separate bird strike incidents within 24 hours. The airline confirmed the situation in a statement, expressing regret over the unexpected setbacks.
Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, noted that the first incident occurred on Thursday, forcing the aircraft involved to return to base. The disruptions continued on Friday when two more aircraft were struck by birds, leading to their immediate grounding for safety inspections and repairs.
“Additionally, earlier today, two of our aircraft also suffered bird strike incidents, resulting in the grounding of the affected aircraft for safety checks and necessary maintenance,” Ndiulo stated.
He reassured passengers that the airline is taking all necessary precautions to ensure safety remains the top priority. According to him, Air Peace follows strict safety protocols and has already begun inspections and maintenance to restore the aircraft to operational standards.

In line with our strict safety protocols, we have immediately commenced the requisite inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure that the aircraft meet the highest safety standards before returning to service,” he added.
The airline apologized to travelers affected by the disruption, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to their travel plans. Ndiulo mentioned that Air Peace is working to assist passengers with rescheduling and alternative travel options where possible.
“While we work to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible, we kindly seek your patience and understanding. Our team is actively reaching out to affected passengers to provide necessary assistance, including rescheduling and alternative travel arrangements where possible.”
