Bobrisky Detained at FCID Following Arrest at Seme Border

Popular Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer, Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, has been detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.

The social media figure was taken into custody after an arrest by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to leave the country through the Seme border. Bobrisky spent the night behind bars at the police facility as authorities await further instructions on how to handle his case.

According to a reliable source who spoke to the press, Bobrisky was transferred to the FCID late on Monday night, following his initial arrest on Sunday by immigration officials. The source, who is familiar with the case, explained that Bobrisky was being held at the FCID as a precautionary measure while investigations are ongoing.

“Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 p.m. on Monday. Immigration arrested him at Seme border and brought him here for safekeeping. He was detained overnight and is still in custody at the FCID,” the source disclosed.

The reason behind Bobrisky’s arrest stems from recent issues that have raised public concern. Officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service confirmed that Bobrisky was intercepted at the border during an attempt to leave the country.

His detention is part of ongoing efforts by the government to secure Nigeria’s borders and manage cases of individuals of interest who may pose a security risk or have unresolved legal matters.

Kenneth Udo, the spokesperson for the NIS, released a statement to the media on Monday evening, shedding light on the arrest. He described Bobrisky as a person of interest due to his recent activities, which have attracted public scrutiny.

“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders,” Udo said.

Further confirmation of Bobrisky’s detention came from the FCID spokesperson, Mayegun Aminat. During a brief conversation with journalists, Aminat confirmed that Bobrisky was in custody and that legal procedures would be followed to keep him detained for further investigation.

“He is detained at FCID Alagbon. He is with us, and we are to get a remand to keep him in custody today,” Aminat confirmed on Tuesday.
