Bobrisky Did Not Stay Out of Jail, But Enjoyed Privileges – Investigative Panel

An investigative panel, set up to look into allegations surrounding the prison conditions of Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has submitted its findings.

The panel’s report has dismissed claims that the cross-dresser stayed outside the custodial facility while serving his six-month prison sentence.

However, the report did confirm that Bobrisky was granted certain privileges during his time in jail.

Bobrisky, a well-known social media influencer and cross-dresser, was sentenced to six months in prison earlier this year. He served from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.

During this period, rumors began to spread that Bobrisky was not staying inside the correctional facility as required but was instead living outside of the jail, avoiding full imprisonment.

In response to these rumors, an investigative panel was formed to look into the situation.

The panel included representatives from various organizations, including Uju Agomoh, the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA). PRAWA is an organization focused on the rights and rehabilitation of prisoners.

After conducting a thorough investigation, the panel concluded that there was no truth to the claims that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence.

“The panel did not find any evidence thus far that suggested Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center during the period of his imprisonment,” Agomoh stated in the report.

Despite these findings, the panel did acknowledge that Bobrisky had received certain privileges while serving his sentence. Though the report did not go into detail about the nature of these privileges, it was confirmed that Bobrisky was treated in a way that was not common for all inmates.

It was also clarified that Bobrisky’s release was in accordance with the standard procedures that apply to inmates, with the usual remission period taken into consideration. Remission allows inmates to serve less than the full length of their sentence under specific conditions.
