The Bayelsa State Police Command has launched a full investigation following the killing of a Bolt driver near Samphino Junction in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The driver was discovered lifeless in his vehicle on Friday morning.
According to residents in the area, it was passersby who first noticed the stationary car along the busy road and then found the man slumped over the steering wheel. They immediately contacted local authorities.
Police officers quickly arrived at the scene and sealed off the area while they examined the surroundings and the vehicle. The exact time of the incident remains unclear, but early findings suggest that the man may have been shot at close range.
Bayelsa Police spokesperson, Musa Mohammed, noted that nothing appeared to be stolen from the car, which raises suspicions that the killing may have been targeted. “We are treating this as a case of possible assassination,” he said. “Investigations are ongoing and more details will be shared as we make progress.”
