A bomb explosion has reportedly killed four travellers in Borno State, with many others sustaining injuries.
The deadly incident happened on Wednesday around 3:00 p.m. along the Damboa-Maiduguri road — a route known for frequent attacks by terrorists. Witnesses say a vehicle carrying passengers ran over an explosive device planted on the busy road, leading to the tragic deaths and injuries.
While the exact number of people in the affected vehicle has not been confirmed, local sources noted that the blast was powerful enough to tear through the car and throw some of the victims out onto the road. Security officials and emergency workers later arrived at the scene to evacuate the wounded and move the dead bodies to the hospital.
This incident is the latest in a string of similar attacks along the same route. Just a few weeks ago, a similar explosion killed seven people, sparking renewed fears among commuters who rely on the Damboa-Maiduguri road for travel and trade.
