Samuel Anyanwu has officially resumed his role as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite ongoing internal conflicts within the party.
Anyanwu made his way to the PDP national secretariat at about 10:56 a.m. on Monday, where he was welcomed by his personal staff before settling into his office.
The resumption comes amidst a heated leadership tussle following an Appeal Court judgment that recognized Sunday Okoye as the legitimate National Secretary of the party.
Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, confirmed this development earlier, sparking fresh waves of uncertainty within the party.
When confronted with Ologunagba’s statement, Anyanwu dismissed the remarks, asserting that they did not represent the official position of the PDP.
While seated at his desk, Anyanwu told journalists: “That is his opinion. It’s not the opinion of the party.
“As National Publicity Secretary of the party, I wouldn’t want to disparage him. Maybe he didn’t get the facts correctly. I have appealed.”
