The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Isaac Omodewu, has passed away while receiving medical treatment in the United States. Omodewu, a dual citizen of both Nigeria and the U.S., had traveled abroad in November 2023 for medical reasons and had been undergoing treatment for nearly a year before his death.
Omodewu’s illness had not been publicly disclosed, and the specific cause of his passing remains unknown. However, his prolonged absence had been a matter of quiet concern within political circles in Oyo State, where he was a prominent figure in the ruling party.
The news of his death was confirmed by the Oyo State APC’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in a brief statement to the press. “Our chairman is dead,” Sadare confirmed when contacted by journalists, without giving further details.
