BREAKING: Dangote Slashes Petrol Price to N860/litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. The new price will take effect on Thursday, February 27, 2025, lowering the cost from N890 to N825 per litre.

In a statement, the refinery noted that this adjustment aims to ease the financial burden on Nigerians, especially as the Ramadan season approaches. The move also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery efforts.

The statement read, “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, by N65.00, from N890 to N825 per litre, effective from 27th February 2025.

“This strategic price adjustment is designed to provide essential relief to Nigerians in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season, while also supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy by alleviating the financial burden on the Nigerian populace.”

This marks the second petrol price reduction in February 2025. Earlier in the month, the refinery had lowered the price of PMS by N60.00. In December 2024, the company also reduced the cost of petrol by N70.50, bringing it down from N970 to N899.50 per litre.

With the latest price adjustment, Dangote petrol will be available at different rates across partner retail outlets. According to the refinery, MRS Holdings stations will sell petrol for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East.
