Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) made an unexpected visit to the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) on Monday.
According to a statement on SERAP’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the security agents demanded to see the organization’s directors, though their reasons for doing so were not immediately clear.
The post read: “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”
This is coming after the rights group had urged President Tinubu to direct the National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, to quickly reverse the outrageous pump price of premium motor spirit, PMS.
