Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have sealed off the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja. The action was carried out on Monday afternoon by a team of FCTA staff.
At around 2:06 p.m., the FCTA officials arrived at the PDP’s headquarters, Wadata Plaza, located in Wuse Zone 5, and locked the main entrance gate, restricting access to the building. The move appeared to be part of a wider crackdown on properties linked to unpaid land charges.
This comes just a day after the FCTA, under the leadership of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, revealed plans to recover land and properties over long-standing ground rent debts. According to the announcement, about 4,794 plots had their titles revoked due to non-payment of ground rent, with some debts dating back as far as four decades.
