The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially announced that Tuesday, October 1, 2024, will be a public holiday across the country. This day has been set aside to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
In the statement, Minister Tunji-Ojo expressed his congratulations to Nigerians, both at home and abroad, for reaching this significant milestone. He acknowledged the efforts of the Nigerian people, recognizing their hard work and resilience over the years.
Tunji-Ojo used the opportunity to urge Nigerians to remain united and work together towards building a stronger and more prosperous nation. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring the growth and development of Nigeria, as well as the well-being of its citizens.
