Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have expressed their full support for Speaker Princess Mojisola Meranda, passing a motion of confidence in her leadership.
The motion was introduced by Oladipo Ajomale, a representative for Oshodi/Isolo 2, who took the floor to assure his colleagues that Speaker Meranda is the right leader for the Assembly at this time.
Ajomale emphasized that the Speaker’s election was a unanimous decision among the lawmakers, and they believe she has the skills and ability to guide the House effectively.
Following his remarks, Aro Moshood, another lawmaker, seconded the motion. Afterward, the remaining 34 members of the Assembly showed their approval by supporting the motion, which led to the passing of the vote of confidence.
Notably, the Assembly staff also joined in showing their solidarity for the Speaker, further reinforcing the confidence in her leadership.
Following the vote, the House adjourned its sitting until further notice, signaling a brief pause in legislative activities. The motion reflects the unity and commitment of the Assembly members to ensure that their leadership remains stable and focused during their current term.
