Panic broke out at the Alake Sports Complex in Ijeja, Abeokuta — one of the venues for the 2024 National Sports Festival — following a gas explosion.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the incident happened when a gas truck delivering fuel to the complex’s generator suddenly went up in flames, causing fear among athletes and spectators in the area.
Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, and the situation has since been brought under control.
