BREAKING: President Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointment

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.

The appointment, confirmed by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), will officially begin on November 14, 2024.

“This is in line with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008, as amended,” Akume noted in a formal statement. This statement was issued on his behalf by Mr. Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the SGF’s office.

Before assuming this new role, Jami’u Abiola served as the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties within the Office of the Vice President. In his new position, he is expected to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jami’u Abiola is the son of late Chief Moshood Abiola (MKO), the acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, and the late Kudirat Abiola, a prominent pro-democracy activist tragically killed during her fight to restore the mandate.
