BREAKING: Reps Pass Tax Reform Bills

The House of Representatives on Tuesday approved four tax reform bills that were sent to the National Assembly in October 2024 by President Bola Tinubu.

Last week Thursday, the House had reviewed and adopted the report from the House Committee on Finance, which provided recommendations on key areas of the proposed reforms.

Some of the most debated issues included changes to the Value Added Tax (VAT) and the introduction of an inheritance tax.

With the House’s approval, the next step is for the Senate to review and pass the bills. Once that process is completed, the tax reforms will be forwarded to President Tinubu for his final assent in the coming days.
