BREAKING: Saudi Arabia Confirms Eid-el-Fitr Celebration for Sunday, March 30

Saudi Arabia has officially announced that the Islamic holiday of Eid-el-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, March 30, 2025. This decision follows the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the new Islamic month, Shawwal.

The announcement was made on Saturday via Haramain’s official Facebook page, a trusted platform that provides updates to the global Muslim community. The post confirmed, “The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.”

Eid-el-Fitr, also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is one of the most significant celebrations in Islam. It comes after a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection during Ramadan. Muslims worldwide observe this day with special prayers, festive meals, and acts of charity.

In Saudi Arabia, Eid prayers will be held in mosques and open prayer grounds, with large gatherings expected in cities such as Mecca and Medina. Many families will also come together to share meals, exchange gifts, and give “Zakat al-Fitr,” a form of charity required before the Eid prayer.
