BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints APC Chairman Ganduje, Umahi, Akinyemi, 42 Others As Board Chairpersons, CEOs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, Senator Magnus Abe, Augustine Chukwu Umahi, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, and several others as chairpersons and key officials of federal boards and agencies.

The appointments, announced in a statement by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, are intended to strengthen governance across 42 federal organizations.

The report notes that Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been named Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, while Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the APC’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Kano State, has been appointed as Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

Senator Magnus Abe has been assigned as Chairman of the National Agency for Great Green Wall, an organization focused on combating desertification and promoting environmental sustainability.

Similarly, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, a respected academic and diplomat, will serve as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, a body tasked with advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives.

The statement also reveals the appointment of a new Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

APPOINTMENT OF BOARD CHAIRPERSONS AND CEOS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed board chairpersons for 42 federal organisations and a secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services.

The President has also appointed a new managing director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a director-general for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

President Tinubu directs the board chairpersons not to interfere with the management of the organisations, emphasising that their positions are non-executive.

All the appointments take immediate effect.
