President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Enugu State on Friday for an official visit marked by the commissioning of several major infrastructure projects.
The President’s aircraft, a Nigeria Air Force Airbus A330, touched down at Akanu Ibiam International Airport at approximately 1:22 PM.
A high-profile delegation welcomed the President upon arrival, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu.
Also present were Anambra’s Deputy Governor, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, and businessman Arthur Ezeh, among others.
According to Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the Enugu State Government, the President is expected to commission the newly completed Enugu International Conference Center.
Other key projects slated for commissioning include 30 operational Enugu Smart Green Schools out of 260 under construction, 60 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres out of 260 planned, and 90 completed urban roads in Enugu City.
President Tinubu will also unveil the Command and Control Centre, equipped with advanced surveillance technology, and 150 AI-enhanced patrol vehicles. Additionally, he will inspect completed rural road projects aimed at enhancing connectivity in local communities.
