President Bola Tinubu has officially promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, to the rank of Lieutenant General. The decoration ceremony took place on Tuesday within the President’s office at the State House in Abuja.
This promotion follows Oluyede’s recent appointment to the role, which he assumed last Wednesday. He stepped into this position following a period of absence by his predecessor, Taoreed Lagbaja, who has been unwell for several weeks.
The President’s communications team released a statement confirming the development, saying, “President Tinubu decorates acting Chief of Army Staff, Oluyede, as Lt. General.”
