BREAKING: Tinubu Scraps Niger Delta, Sports Ministries

President Bola Tinubu has announced the dissolution of two key ministries in Nigeria — the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Ministry of Sports Development.

The decision was made during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, according to a tweet from the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The scrapping of these ministries signals a shift in the structure of the federal government as Tinubu moves to reorganize certain aspects of governance.

The statement read, “President Tinubu and Federal Executive Council scrap Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of sports development.

“There will now be a ministry of regional development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission , North East Development Commission.”
