Bribery: I Have More Evidence, VeryDarkMan Fires Back at Bobrisky

Social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, announced that he has more evidence regarding the allegations against popular figure Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. This revelation comes after VeryDarkMan previously shared a voice note in which Bobrisky claimed to have served his six-month sentence in a private apartment due to his connections.

In a recent Instagram post, VeryDarkMan stated, “Now, let me tell you something even more interesting. I have another voice note to post, which I will share tomorrow, and it’s from a different person.” He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the claims, especially since high-profile names were mentioned, including Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and noted human rights lawyer. “A deep investigation will reveal everything,” he added.

The situation escalated when Falana publicly denied any association with Bobrisky. His lawyer sent a letter to VeryDarkMan, demanding a retraction and an apology within 24 hours. The letter firmly stated, “We wish to state, without any fear of contradiction, that our client (Falana) has never, in his life, spoken to Bobrisky regarding his alleged pardon or on any matter whatsoever.”

The controversy initially ignited when VeryDarkMan released a voice note in which Bobrisky claimed that after being convicted for misusing naira notes in April, he was able to serve his sentence in a private setting, thanks to arrangements made by his godfather and the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service. In this voice note, Bobrisky allegedly mentioned that he was approached by rapper Falz and his father, Femi Falana, who proposed to help him secure a pardon from the government for a fee of ₦10 million.

In response to Falana’s legal actions, VeryDarkMan insisted that he did not intend to defame the lawyer. He expressed his respect for Falana, saying, “First of all, I did not defame Uncle Falana, and I never will. Uncle Falana, SAN, is someone I respect 100%. I respect him not just because of his position as SAN, but because of what he has used that position to achieve—representing people like me.”

VeryDarkMan clarified that his intention was not to attack Falana’s character, but rather to express skepticism about the alleged connection between Falana and Bobrisky’s claims. He mentioned that he had the option to edit out the parts mentioning Falz but chose to leave it in to push for a full investigation. “I want a thorough investigation into this issue. A deep investigation into this case,” he stated, reiterating the importance of clarity and accountability.
