Chelsea Seals Late Victory Over Bournemouth with Nkunku’s Decisive Goal

Chelsea secured a narrow 1-0 win against Bournemouth in a thrilling Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium. The match, which seemed to be heading for a draw, was decided by a late strike from Christopher Nkunku, who came off the bench to secure all three points for the visitors.

The game began with Bournemouth on the front foot, putting pressure on Chelsea’s defense early on. Within just four minutes, Marcus Tavernier almost gave the home side the lead with a powerful long-range shot, only to see his effort crash off the crossbar. Bournemouth’s fast start caused problems for Chelsea, and the home side looked dangerous in the opening stages.

Throughout the first half, Bournemouth continued to create chances, with new summer signing Evanilson and forward Antoine Semenyo both testing Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez. Sánchez was forced into multiple saves, including denying a close-range shot from Justin Kluivert. Despite Bournemouth’s efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net.

Bournemouth’s best opportunity came when Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana made a crucial error, sending a weak backpass towards his goalkeeper. Evanilson intercepted the ball and was brought down, resulting in a penalty. However, Robert Sánchez stepped up for Chelsea once again, making an impressive save to keep the score level.

Chelsea struggled to gain control for much of the match, and head coach Enzo Maresca made key substitutions to change the course of the game. Jadon Sancho and João Félix were brought on in the second half, and their introduction gradually shifted momentum in Chelsea’s favor. Sancho, in particular, played a vital role in creating the decisive goal.

The breakthrough finally came in the 85th minute when Christopher Nkunku, another substitute, made his mark. After receiving a pass from Sancho, Nkunku skillfully dribbled past Bournemouth’s defenders and slotted the ball into the bottom corner, sending Chelsea fans into celebration.

Despite Bournemouth’s efforts to respond, they were unable to find an equalizer, and Chelsea held on to secure the 1-0 victory. The win marked another strong performance for Chelsea, continuing their solid start to the season.
