Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido’s popular wedding song, ‘Ogechi Remix,’ has been removed from YouTube following a copyright issue. The song, which quickly became a fan favorite, was performed live on June 25, 2024, during Davido’s extravagant wedding to Chioma.
The remix, which features collaborations with artists BoyPee, Brown Joel, and Hyce, was officially released on July 19, 2024, alongside a music video. The video gained significant traction, reflecting the song’s popularity among fans.
However, in a surprising turn of events, YouTube has taken down the music video after a copyright claim was filed. Despite the removal of the video, the audio version of the song remains available on BoyPee’s official YouTube page.
Interestingly, reports have surfaced indicating that Davido is not officially credited as the primary artist for the song on YouTube. Adding to the controversy, a viral video has emerged showing that the original version of ‘Ogechi’ was created by a different artist before the remix was made.
