Court Postpones Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Case Against Senate Probe to March 25

The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the hearing of a case filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District. The court has rescheduled the matter to March 25, 2025.

The decision came after the respondents in the case informed the court that they had not yet received the necessary legal documents. Due to this, the judge agreed to move the hearing to a later date to allow proper service of the court papers.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had approached the court, requesting an order to prevent the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges from continuing its investigation into her. The details of the investigation have not been fully disclosed, but it appears to be a matter of significant public interest.

On March 5, 2025, Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled on an earlier application in the case, stopping the Senate committee from moving forward with its probe. The judge’s decision temporarily shields Akpoti-Uduaghan from any Senate inquiry until the court makes a final judgment on the case.
