Dalori Assumes Office as APC Acting Chairman, Vows Support for Tinubu’s Leadership

Following the recent resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje from his position as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori has officially stepped in as the acting national chairman of the ruling party.

Speaking at the APC National Secretariat during his first address to the party’s national working committee on Monday, Dalori said he was taking on the role with “humility, responsibility, and loyalty.” He explained that his appointment came after Ganduje’s decision to step down and the instruction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dalori noted the contributions of Ganduje, saying the former chairman played a key role in guiding the party since assuming office in August 2023.

“We are all aware of the significant contributions Dr Ganduje made during his tenure,” Dalori said. “Since his assumption of office in August 2023, he provided our party with experienced leadership, steadfast commitment, and a clear sense of direction.”

He added that the APC was thankful for Ganduje’s service and wished him well in his recovery. “On behalf of the entire APC family, I express our heartfelt gratitude to him and wish him full recovery and strength as he focuses on his health and personal well-being,” he added.

Dalori assured members that his leadership would focus on fairness, unity, and teamwork. According to him, his new role is not for personal benefit, but for the good of the party.

“This is a period for consolidation — not conflict. For maturity — not division. And for vision — not personal ambition,” he said.

He called on party members to work on improving their internal structure and reconnecting with the grassroots as they look toward the 2027 general elections. He noted that unity within the party would help prepare for the political journey ahead.

Reiterating his commitment to President Tinubu, Dalori said the APC would continue to stand behind the president and his goals. He described Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a clear plan to solve the nation’s key problems, such as the economy, insecurity, and national unity.

“The APC remains the political vehicle to drive this transformation, and we will stand by the president in full loyalty and partnership,” Dalori said.
