Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, ina a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, made striking claims about the influence of a cabal within President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Dalung asserted that this group is far more sophisticated and dangerous than the cabal that existed during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
According to Dalung, Tinubu’s cabal is composed of highly educated and strategically minded individuals who possess a deep understanding of power dynamics.
“They are educated and have a sound knowledge of what power is,” Dalung remarked, emphasizing their ability to control access to the president and manipulate governance.
He argued that this level of sophistication makes them a significant threat to effective leadership in Nigeria.
Dalung compared Tinubu’s cabal to Buhari’s, describing the latter as less refined and composed of individuals with limited knowledge of politics and governance.
He noted that while Buhari’s cabal operated with narrow motives, their lack of strategic depth reduced their overall influence.
Criticizing the denial of cabals’ existence in governance, Dalung stated that ignoring their presence would be an injustice to future generations.
He further questioned the effectiveness of Tinubu’s administration, citing Chapter 2 of the Nigerian Constitution, which mandates government to prioritize citizens’ welfare.
“Are Nigerians rejoicing over the policies of this government? Certainly not,” he said. Dalung warned that the influence of this cabal might worsen the plight of ordinary Nigerians, leaving them more frustrated and alienated.
