Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi received heartfelt condolences on Wednesday from prominent figures, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The duo visited the governor at the Presidential Lodge in Dutse, the state capital, to sympathize with him following the loss of his mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, in a devastating motor accident.

The tragedies, which occurred just a day apart, have sparked an outpouring of grief across the nation, with many Nigerians expressing their sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family.

During the visit, Aliko Dangote praised Governor Namadi’s strength in the face of such overwhelming personal loss.

“Your Excellency, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your mother and son. May Allah grant them eternal rest and comfort you and your family during this difficult time,” Dangote said.

Peter Obi also expressed his deep sympathy, referring to the loss as “irreplaceable.” He assured the governor and his family of his thoughts and prayers during their period of mourning.

Governor Namadi, visibly touched by their presence and support, expressed his gratitude. “I am deeply grateful for your support and solidarity during this difficult time. Your presence here today is a testament to the strong bond of friendship and camaraderie that exists among us,” he stated.
